This IETM Porto speech by Tunde Adefioye is a call to broaden our canon and continue making transnational alliances in an effort to make institutions better reflecting the differences in society, which will ultimately benefit the cultural (and other professional) sectors.

I am looking forward to moderating this session. I am doing some homework, and stumbled upon this fascinating article about the Disability Rights Movement in Germany.

I would like to share as preparation of this session our Un-Label Manual "Innovation Diversity – New Approaches of Cultural Encounter in Europe".
This manual was created as part of the international EU Creative Europe funded project Un-Label – New Grounds for Inclusive Performing Arts.
It offers insights into the two-year pilot project that is aimed at increasing the awareness of the diversity of our society and the appreciation of differences as a source of creativity.
The Best Practice Portraits section presents ten European catalysts from the inclusive cultural scene that pursue similar objectives. Moreover, the manual shows how to reduce barriers and provides a checklist for planning and implementing your own projects as well as an overview of important inclusive cultural operators and experts across Europe.
Its availabel as free download: Manual Innovation Diversity – New Approaches of Cultural Encounter in Europe
