Your action is needed: Creative Europe budget is at stake
Dear members,
We are happy to inform you that on November 14, the European Parliament officially proposed to increase the budget of Creative Europe (2021-2027) to €2.8bn, which is twice as much as the current budget for Creative Europe.
Now it is up to the member states to discuss, on 13-14 December, whether this proposal can or will become a reality.
You might be a satisfied beneficiary of Creative Europe, or, perhaps, you have never considered applying for its grant. In any case, we are convinced that you, as everyone in our contemporary performing arts community, deserves a greater opportunity to benefit from the only EU programme directly supporting culture.
We also believe Creative Europe plays a unique and important role in internationalising our sector and creating professional connections and intercultural exchange across national borders - which is so crucial today.
So, please reach out to your national Ministers of Culture, Finances and Foreign Affairs and convince them that Creative Europe should continue in 2021-2027 and support many more projects than it currently does. The sooner you do it, the better.
We have drafted a sample letter for you (available in English, French and Portuguese), which you may modify the way you want and use for your advocacy activities at the national level.
Do not hesitate to get back to us if you require more information.
Kind regards,
Nan van Houte
IETM Secretary General
