IETM Bucharest: Being an artist today
IETM Spring Plenary Meeting
20 – 23 April
National Theatre Bucharest
Bulevardul Nicolae Bălcescu 2 Bucharest, Romania
More than 400 performing arts professionals from all over the world will gather at IETM Meeting in Bucharest, organised in partnership with the National Center of Dance Bucharest and Romanian Association of Theatre Artists (UNITER), to engage in a collective reflection on the position of the artist in contemporary society and to build closer relations with international partners.
A range of working sessions will shed light on some of the most vital issues for the performing arts professionals: financial and social conditions of pursuing a career in the arts, cultural mobility, fair international collaboration, gender equality in the cultural sector, the role of artists in shaping the future of Europe, diversity and inclusion, assessment of quality of an artwork, among others. The programme will also offer two practical workshops – on art curatorship and on the Creative Europe application process.
The artistic programme will be a snapshot of the brightest highlights of the Romanian contemporary performing arts scene. The full range of performances will be available on IETM website in the first week of April.
The meeting will also give space for presenting ongoing art projects and initiatives, thus facilitating networking and the emergence of cross-border partnerships.
Both members of IETM and non-member participants are welcome to attend the meeting.
