In this performance, the ten co-authors from Conakry to Grenoble assert their contractual ties against the migration policies that try to separate them. Whether they have valid papers to stay in France, they are seeking asylum, or they are prohibited from staying here, they work together and invoke a principle of co-dependence. Three different perspectives on the period of war in Lebanon. What connects them? The theatre. Hanane Hajj Ali and Randa Asmara decided to become actors at the start of the 1980s, in the middle of a civil war in Beirut. Chrystèle Khodr belongs to the post-war generation. She creates a stage for the two actors, who retrace their theatre career and try to reconstruct the memory of this fragmented city.
Blending fiction and personal accounts, they try to draw a map of places that are now gone during the performance. What is it like to do theatre in a war-torn country? This is an opportunity to examine the relationship that these artists maintain with their profession and the need to perform in the last free place.

Wo-Man is the story of a beautiful encounter between dancer Nangaline Gomis and choreographer Amala Dianor, whom she asked to perform an extract from her solo Man Rec as part of her studies at the CNSMD in Lyon. The choreographer then reflected on the transmission of this solo created in 2014 and which has continued to tour on international stages ever since. Conceived as a dialogue between its multiple origins – from urban dances to contemporary dance – questioning the identity of the individual and their relationship to others, Man Rec is the founding piece of a hybrid and embodied writing which imposes its singularity in the landscape of contemporary dance.

(…) Poetry is no longer about beauty, it is a shockwave, the disenchantment of an unkind heart. Across scores of occurrences, all the smoking steps sting the earth, the ocean in its internal desert; the thirst that is utopia. Remaining in this partition, scarred, half-burned, strained from the anger of those disappeared beyond the roads and the blades of sharp silences. I have escaped on the whole. And I pretend to watch a nightmare, an action that happens in five movements: Exile, Border, Wandering, Death, Transition.
