Entry to Cyprus
Following intercommunal conflict and the events of 1974, Cyprus has been divided by a 180km United Nations Buffer Zone (the "Green Line"). The Republic of Cyprus (south) is an EU Member State, EU laws are suspended in the north. The area north of the Green Line is administered by Turkish Cypriot authorities and is recognized only by Türkiye.
Larnaka is situated in the south of Cyprus, in the Republic of Cyprus.

Advice on entry to Cyprus
Arrive through a port or airport controlled by the Republic of Cyprus, including Larnaka (Larnaca) or Pafos (Paphos) International Airports or the seaports of Larnaka (Larnaca) , Lemesos (Limassol), Latsi or Pafos (Paphos). We strongly recommend that you avoid travelling to Ercan International Airport (ECN) - the airport nearest the capital, Nicosia - situated in the northern part of the island, as it is not an official Republic of Cyprus port of entry. The Republic of Cyprus advises that entry through ports or airports in the area administered by the Turkish Cypriot authorities may lead to legal consequences.
