Ahead of the IETM Berlin Plenary Meeting 2025, we invited all participants attending the meeting to an online information session.
There has been a considerable amount of scrutiny and media coverage concerning Germany in recent months. In February’s federal elections, the far-right AfD (Alternative for Germany) doubled its support. A recent federal resolution and the Berlin Senate’s ‘anti-discrimination clause’ (the latter of which has been withdrawn) have drawn criticism for their potential to limit freedom of expression.
In order to share information and answer questions about the current German context and what participants can expect in Berlin, we hosted an online information session ahead of the meeting.
We encouraged all participants to attend and to come prepared with any questions that they may have about the current German context. This has not been an information session about practical aspects of the meeting - this has been shared in an email ahead of time.
Speakers:
Thomas Engel, Former Managing Director of ITI Germany
Roisin Caffrey, IETM Production Manager
Ali, Awareness Team, Queer Mama
Lino Agbalaka, Lawyer, Germany (TBC)

Simón Hanukai, Kaimera Productions
Please note that this information session is strictly reserved for participants of the IETM Berlin Plenary Meeting - do not share the invitation with anyone who is not registered for the meeting.
