Gymnastics Girls is an award-winning theatre performance and artistic collective that has been recognized as one of the most remarkable theatrical phenomena in Finland in recent years. Through movement, humour, and emotion, the performance explores themes of power, body politics, youth, and the world of competitive gymnastics.

Since its 2024 premiere, Gymnastics Girls has toured extensively across Finland and the Baltics, performing to sold-out audiences and receiving widespread acclaim. The production has captivated new audiences, 
inspired sports communities, and influenced researchers through its powerful documentary-artistic approach.

Beyond the stage, Gymnastics Girls has evolved into a multidisciplinary artistic collective that brings together artists, athletes, researchers, and audiences to explore questions of girlhood, performance culture, and 
embodied knowledge through theatre, discussion, and public engagement.

The creators received Finland’s State Award for Public Information in 2025 in recognition of the work’s exceptional societal impact. In 2026, Gymnastics Girls was further honoured with the Sports Psychology Act of 
the Year Award, recognising its significant contribution to public discussion on athlete wellbeing, body image, and the psychological dimensions of youth sports.
