Travel in style on Monday 15 June for a unique journey from Helsinki to Oulu.

We have booked an entire train carriage exclusively for IETM participants, creating a dedicated space where you can connect, collaborate and take part in a special Environmental Working Group session while travelling.

The 2-hour workshop will explore the advantages of slowing down through Tales from the Road, drawn from workshop leader Pippa Bailey’s slow-travel journeys. Participants will be invited to share their own stories and engage with practical tools for exploring systems change.

This is a great opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences and expand your network before the Plenary Meeting.

Practical information:

Date: Monday 15 June
Departure: 8:20, Helsinki Central Railway Station. Please note that you will need to arrive in good time ahead of the train’s departure.
Arrival: 14:22, Oulu Railway Station. You will arrive in time for the  late afternoon Meeting session on Monday 15 June - please note that this session will take place at the same time as the other Working Groups sessions. 
Train number: IC23
Carriage: The session will take place on the upper deck of the train, accessed via a short staircase. We will send you the carriage number closer to the time. The carriage has 51 seats, arranged facing forwards and backwards, with some seats around tables. Seats will be allocated by IETM, taking passenger requests into account wherever possible.
Catering: Catering is not provided as part of your booking. There is a restaurant car on the train, where you can buy drinks and light lunches, you can find an example of the menu here. There are also several places to buy food before you board the train, in Helsinki Central Railway Station.
Price: €28.70 per person. This price reserves you a seat in the carriage.
Workshop: The working group session will run for two hours during the journey, leaving the remaining time for informal networking and time to watch the landscape unfold.

• Payment can be made by credit or debit card, or via international bank transfer. Please note that payments not paid within five working days of booking your slot will be automatically cancelled.
• It is not possible to cancel your booking once payment has been made and refunds will not be issued.
• You will receive your seat allocation from IETM close to the time of departure.
• When booking, you will be asked to provide any travel requirements, and we will accommodate these wherever possible.
