Doing it together: share your collaborations to strengthen the position of artists
Low incomes, juggling jobs, uncertain futures, and a constant need to be social, available and willing to move: it is fair to say that performing artists live in precarious conditions. How can the position of artists in the field be more sustainable? Individuals, organisations, artists and art workers from across Europe are responding with a multitude of initiatives that span across funds for artists with families, artist lobby organisations, alternative currency systems, space sharing platforms, fair practise labels, and more. At the IETM Plenary in Bucharest, Flanders Arts Institute launched an initiative to set up an open platform to map existing initiatives in order to exchanging experiences between artists, curators, programmers, organisers and researchers. Contribute by sharing inspiring examples you have encountered or are developing yourself.
