Dear Friends and fellow Members, The humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine is profound. Over 150,000 refugees have already entered Poland with millions more expected. If you would like to help, here is a good overview of links and resources:

Ciao a tutti,

come sapete, IETM sta tenendo monitorata la situazione e si sta coordinando con gli altri networks per capire come intervenire in maniera efficace a supporto della popolazione Ucraina. In particolare, vorremmo individuare delle modalità per accogliere e aiutare artisti ed esponenti della cultura, che potrebbero rischiare più di altri ritorsioni a causa delle loro posizioni o dichiarazioni.

Al momento non ci risultano iniziative specifiche in questo senso attivate in Italia: se qualcuno di voi ne fosse a conoscenza, vi preghiamo di rispondere a questo post, che useremo come luogo di coordinamento.
Ovviamente tutto valido anche in caso di nostri colleghi che magari erano già qui prima dello scoppio delle ostilità e che hanno bisogno di supporto non potendo tornare a casa.

Ad oggi, i canali più sicuri attraverso cui fare una donazione, se lo desiderate, restano quelli delle principali organizzazioni umanitarie e di alcune italiane che lavorano specificatamente in quell'area:

• Hungary - Capital Circus of Budapest has jobs backstage for Ukrainians artists and a small number of positions for talented performers.

• Lithuania ~ Circus Odyssey and promoters for the company Cirkosou.lt from Kaunas, Lithuania - are offering work for various circus artists from Ukraine!

• Germany - Steffi Haberl Palazzo has offered documentation-shelter-work opportunities-mental health resources for all UKRAINIAN circus workers. Contact: Steffi Haberl

• Poland ~ The circus community in Lublin, Poland very close to the border is offering any kind of "first contact" help and possible residency.

• Australia - Would consider a three month sponsorship agreement for an artist but preference is if there any experienced crew such as a tent boss, lighting and sound operator with truck license or other circus skills looking for work. I could offer work through to late November with option for next years season.

• United Kingdom ~ Let's Circus- can partner with other UK based circuses who are not able to sponsor artists to work in the UK as they are able to - this might help Ukranian artists (though the Tier 5 works sponsorship - however as yet a VISA is still required to work in the UK alongside the sponsorship. So it is Best if other UK circuses not able to sponsor an artists, but able to offer work contact them first, so that no Ukrainian is disappointed. note: If any Circus artist finding themselves arriving in Newcastle upon Tyne please get in touch. There is a circus community here willing to support.
