On the way to IETM Lyon 2021: Our week-end at the Festival d’Avignon and Festival OFF Avignon (10-11 July)
Dear Members,
This weekend, several IETM members and I took part in two events in Avignon – held during the large and renowned Festival d’Avignon.
On Saturday morning, our Advisory Board member Anikó Rácz (SÍN Arts and Culture Centre, Hungary) and I spoke at a meeting organised by our member La Magnanerie and Théâtre du Train Bleu, in collaboration with our member LAPAS and with the support of our Associate Member Institut Français (see all information about the event on this page and this page). The focus of the meeting was: How can we reconnect after the crisis?
You can watch the recording of the session here.
On Sunday, the group of IETM members who are preparing our upcoming IETM Lyon Plenary Meeting held a full-day Atelier in the gardens of Château de Saint Chamand – the second venue of La Manufacture Avignon. Speakers included Marie Le Sourd and Yohann Floch from On the Move, who presented the preliminary results of a major new study commissioned by the British Council as part of the European project Europe Beyond Access, examining the barriers faced by people with disabilities. With us were also Nele Hertling, one of the founding members of IETM, and Bashar Murkus from the Kashabi Theater, Haifa, Palestine, who discussed The local and the international: New visions and challenges.
A good group of old and new IETM members sat under the trees thereafter and discussed what are the burning topics facing the sector and, most importantly, what should be the key topics at our upcoming Lyon meeting – held under the flexible title Trans-missions.
We are much looking forward to meeting you again at IETM Lyon 2021,
Ása Richardsdóttir
IETM Secretary General
