Mapping of Festivals with a Focus on the Transformative Power of Art
Do you run a festival or other cultural event? Is social transformation through art at the heart of your work? Do you collaborate – or wish to collaborate - with colleagues from MENA (Middle East and North Africa) and could use institutional support? Please let us know!
Your information will help Drosos Foundation make a global map of festivals that focus on the transformative power of art and feed their reflection on supporting future collaborations.
Deadline: 20 July 2020
Commissioned by Drosos Foundation, this research, led by a group of independent consultants, will create an inventory of festivals or other cultural events that showcase, discuss and/or promote creativity as a vehicle for social change.
Drosos Foundation is one of the most active funding institutions in Europe and MENA. It is committed to enabling disadvantaged children, young people and young adults to take control of their lives and make a positive contribution within their community. Working closely with numerous local partners, Drosos Foundation plans, develops and supports projects that have a direct bearing on improving the living conditions of particular groups of people. Drosos partners are diverse and dynamic socially engaged local initiatives in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia as well as Germany and Switzerland.
Drosos Foundation’s main line of action is to support projects through enabling local partners. With this mapping exercise, the Foundation seeks to better understand the existing initiatives in order to enable synergies and imagine future collaborations for its partners.
The Foundation is looking for organisations that fit the following profile:
- a festival, platform, meeting, or any other artistic or cultural event
- focusing on creativity as a driving force for social change
- interested in connecting with the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) and could use institutional support
If your event fits the description, please fill in the questionnaire here.
We are looking forward to your contribution!
