Webpanel: Performing Spaces of Conflict
Common|Space web-panel series, initiated by Master Performing Public Space in 2020, aims at addressing current matters of urgency in society and the art world of today.
Performing Spaces of Conflict, our 5th web-panel, invites you to join a discussion on 5 March on the position and role of artistic practice in contemporary crisis-stricken sociopolitical environments. In a rapidly changing world, crises can take many different forms in the way expressed and affecting social life. Performing Spaces of Conflict will focus on how art as practice and experience can potentially contribute to the (re)construction of community and alternative responsive structures.
The topic will be approached through individual presentations by our guests, coming from the field of art and activism, leading to a discussion addressing questions of:
How does creative practice intersect with political action in times and spaces of need?
How can art contribute to reimagining and strengthening social infrastructures?
How is solidarity performed?
