OPEN CALL for the Vimercate dei Ragazzi Festival 2026
We are happy to announce the opening of the call for proposals for "Vimercate dei Ragazzi - festival di teatro per le nuove generazioni" which will take place the 5-6-7 June 2026. During the festival, the prize "Città di Vimercate" will be assigned to the worthiest company from the jury of children.
Vimercate dei Ragazzi festival hosts professional companies and is organized by delleAli Teatro (winner of the assignment from the Vimercate municipality) in collaboration with Campsirago Residenza, Teatro Invito and ArteVOX Teatro.
To take part in the 2026 edition you are invited to fill in this form by 18.00 of 31 December 2025 giving all the artistic, techical, logistical details and providing the mandatory video material.
The festival takes place in the parks, in the gardens, in the streets and in the squares of the city centers of Vimercate and Oreno, from morning till evening of each day of programming. Performances will take place also in the public library auditorium and in TeatrOreno.
Priority will be given to perfomances and shows designed to be hold in non-theatrical and alternative spaces, en plein air and with natural lights, moving or still. A section of the program will be reserved for companies and artists under 35.
Each company can propose only one production.
If the proposal is a study, a work in progress or a performance in preparation for which there is no video yet, it is possible to write to the artistic direction ([email protected]) to agree on a different method to present your proposal.
Vimercate dei Ragazzi is a festival that chose four directions of artistic research: theater for early childhood (1-5 years), theater in nature, accessible theater for audiences with disabilities and the research of new artistic languages.
The program is directed to performing arts professionals and to and audience aged 0 to 14.
Priority will be given to shows that have not been hosted in other festivals in Italy.
If the performance is meant for a limited number of spectators, more than one show can programmed in the same day.
Proposals will be examined by the artistic direction of the festival: Giada Balestrini (delleAli Teatro), Benedetta Brambilla (Campsirago Residenza), Giusi Vassena (Teatro Invito) e Marta Galli (ArteVOX Teatro).
The selection will be announced by 22 February 2026 via email and on the festival website www.vimercatedeiragazzi.it
Selected companies will be granted with:
• Flat-rate reimbursment of 500€ + 10% VAT (also in the case of more than one show)
• Meals for the artistic and technical staff for the days of performance
• Technical assistance for the set up
• Minimal technical equipment, to be agreed with the technical director
• Recommendation of hotels and restaurants with discounted rates for the festival
• General services (ticketing, ticket checks, ...)
Selected companies must:
• Declare they have all the rights to represent the proposed show
• Be available during the festival days (5, 6, 7 June 2026)

CITTA' DI VIMERCATE PRIZE 2026
During the festival the Jury of the children, made of children from the primary and secondary schools of Vimercate (8-14 years), will evaluate the performances and assign the prize "Città di Vimercate" consisting of 1.000€
