Giving Voice to Multilingual Artists podcast
Post Theatre Collective Launches Podcast Giving Voice to Multilingual Artists Across the Nordic Performing Arts Scene
Helsinki, Finland — May 11, 2026 — Post Theatre Collective has launched Giving Voice to Multilingual Artists, a new limited podcast series about multilingual artists working in the Nordic performing arts field.
Across eight episodes, the English-language series looks at how language affects identity, performance, belonging, and artistic work. The podcast is built around personal conversations with actors and performers based in Finland, Sweden, and Norway, speaking about what it means to live and work between languages.
The series asks questions that are familiar to many multilingual artists, but not always spoken about openly: What happens to the voice and body when performing in a language that is not your first? How does language shape artistic identity? What becomes possible — and what becomes difficult — when an artist works between different linguistic and cultural contexts?
Topics include:
- How different languages affect voice, body, and performance
- Working as an actor in a non-native language
- The relationship between language and identity
- Representation and artistic work across languages
Rather than looking only at the structures of the industry, Giving Voice to Multilingual Artists stays close to the artists’ own experiences. The series speaks to anyone who has lived, worked, or created between languages.
The podcast features conversations with Fernanda Branco, Fabiola Cruz, Issa Holmi, Nana Saijets, Alexandro Soltani, Faheel Saud, Moona Ranta, and Maria Lura Skrudland.
“This podcast creates space for artists to speak about the emotional, practical, and artistic realities of working between languages,” said David Kozma, Director at Post Theatre Collective. “Multilingualism is often treated as a challenge, but it is also a source of knowledge, imagination, and artistic power.”
Giving Voice to Multilingual Artists is part of Post Theatre Collective’s ongoing work around multilingualism in the performing arts, including the project Breaking Multilingual Silence in the Nordic Performing Arts. The podcast was created with the support of Nordic Culture Point.
The series was launched on May 6 on SoundCloud. Following the launch, two new episodes will be released every Thursday throughout May. The series is now available to listen here: https://on.soundcloud.com/qm9GX0YB3Ba2BvYV7v Availability on additional podcast platforms will follow.
