Led by Association InDance International, Skill Up and Bruiser we present our 2 year project funded by European Union on Equality in the Performing Arts Dance, Media and Theatre. Project ID: 2024-1-ES01-KA210-VET-000248043
Description: For women working in performing arts, dance and media, the leadership gap is compounded by additional layers of exclusion, the intersection of gender and racial bias means we often face narrower networks of sponsorship, fewer role models in senior positions, and assumptions that can pigeonhole their artistic contributions rather than their leadership potential.
Equal Arts curriculum is designed to name these intersecting barriers directly rather than treat gender inequality as a uniform experience, embedding case studies and mentoring frameworks that reflect the specific obstacles Black women navigate on the path to directorship, artistic leadership and management roles. By building this intersectional lens into the LMS content and micro-learning units, the project aims to equip trainers and educators with tools that don't just open doors for women in general, but actively address the compounded disadvantage faced by Black women in the sector.
