In this participatory workshop we will explore how performing arts practitioners can build cross-sector collaborations that open up new ways of working and create sustainable approaches to resourcing artistic practice. Looking beyond traditional sponsorship models, we will consider how artists, companies and festivals can work in mutually beneficial ways with sectors such as healthcare, business, education and urban development while keeping artists’ needs and values at the centre of the collaboration.

The session will focus on helping you reflect on your own environment and identifying where your practice can connect with other communities and sectors. Through practical exercises and peer discussion, you will map opportunities, challenges and shared interests, and consider what makes a partnership feel meaningful and reciprocal. 

Participants will leave with practical starting points they can adapt to their own context.
