Welcome Reception with Pop Céilí
Join your IETM Dublin colleagues for a drink in the beautiful Meeting House Square where you will be welcomed to Dublin by the Lord Mayor. Here you will be at the heart of Temple Bar, an area redeveloped as Dublin’s cultural quarter in the early 1990s, and the square is flanked by cultural organisations: The Ark (a dedicated cultural centre for children), the Gallery of Photography, the Irish Film Institute and Archive, Dublin Fringe Festival and the National Photographic Archive. Enjoy an Aperol Spritz courtesy of Febvre Wines, have something to eat and kick-start your weekend with a raucous set from Pop Céilí. Aperol Spritz is Italy’s favourite aperitif! The light, refreshing and fun Venetian drink perfectly balances Prosecco, Aperol and soda to create a bitter-sweet flavour with beautiful orange colour that captures the Italian spirit.
Pop Céilí are an intoxicating ensemble who take famous and contemporary pop and dance songs and combine them with traditional Irish music and instrumentation. The resulting live performance is a fun and wild musical set featuring exquisite vocal harmonies, rollicking trad tunes and beats designed to fill the dance floor. They’ll teach you their moves – so come down and join in!
Created and performed by three theatre artists: Alma Kelliher (composer and sound designer), Ruth McGill (actor and singer) and Megan Riordan (actor and director).
