IETM working groups are led by members and provide a space to tackle issues important to the network.
The Future is made in the rural hinterlands of Europe; areas of distinct culture, stories and heritage that reflect the concerns of the world and that kick start change. Exploring methodologies and techniques in the performing arts that transform local economies through local communities' ownership and control of their cultural assets, this session will explore how art can embrace community wealth building approaches to extend our relevance, representation and resilience. AREA invites members and non-members to join their Working Session and share together the actions, advocacy and methodologies to lead the creation of the future now, leading from and with our rural areas.

tak (Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg im Aufbau Haus) will talk about their unique organisation and operating model - which involves practising artists in a collective rotating system - both its possibilities and difficulties.
tak is a collectively run independent theatre house in Berlin Kreuzberg, open to Berlin-based as well as national and international artists and companies. The collectively developed programme includes work created by the collective management - a group of about 15 diverse artists and cultural managers - as well as cooperation projects with partners who have arrived to live and work in Berlin from all over the world, and visiting productions from inside and outside Germany. A focus lies on artists in exile and artists who are Roma or Sinti. tak is also a production venue for emerging artists, community work and supports experimental formats and artistic try-outs.

Address: HAU1, Stresemannstraße 29, 10963 Berlin | Event Map

The digital stage HAU4 is a platform for the connection between performances & technology and gaming culture. The programme is presented both online and on the theatre stages. On 15 May, HAU will present outstanding HAU4 artists. The audience has the opportunity to immerse themselves in hybrid performances, interactive XR experiments and various game worlds. At the centre is the question of how an artistic perspective can be productive in dealing with social change, in which commercial technology and authoritarian politics are becoming increasingly intertwined. There will be an opportunity to engage in dialogue with the artists.
Artists:
allapopp, Anan Fries, Choy Ka Fai, Interrobang, Janne Kummer, Keiken, Lena Biresch, machina eX, onlinetheater.live, Patrick Blenkarn & Milton Lim and Theresa Reiwer.
