YPAM Fringe 2027 Performance Registration Now Open
YPAM Fringe is an open-call, non-curated performing arts festival. For artists and companies, it offers a chance to connect with new audiences and create opportunities for future collaborations and presentations of their works in Japan and abroad. For performing arts professionals, it is an opportunity to discover outstanding work and emerging talents. For audiences, it is a festival where they can discover an extraordinary range of live performances.
At the previous edition, YPAM Fringe 2025 featured 53 productions by 52 artists and companies, with approximately 30% of the program presented by artists based overseas.
Registration is now open for YPAM Fringe 2027 performances. Here's why you should take part.
□ No selection process
If your project meets the registration requirements, you’re in! No matter how experimental or unconventional it may be.
□ Set your own agenda
Introduce your work to the professionals who gather at YPAM2027, reach new audiences, connect with fellow Fringe artists and see what it’s like to be part of an international performing arts platform. Whatever brings you to YPAM Fringe, there is room to explore it!
□ All genres and formats welcome
Some works fit into categories like theater and dance. Others don’t. YPAM Fringe welcomes both!
□ Any space can be a stage
Theaters and arts spaces aren’t your only options. As long as you can make it happen safely and take responsibility for it, any space in Kanagawa Prefecture can become your stage! Previous editions have taken place in public libraries, kitchens, former shipyards, artist-run spaces, a room in an operating love hotel, and even across an entire city.

Festival period: Friday 5 – Sunday 14 February, 2027
■ Registration Process
1. Initial Registration (submit a project outline): By 31 August 2026, 23:59 (JST)
*The initial registration is a required first step before you can proceed to the final registration.
2. Online meeting with the YPAM staff
3. Final Registration (submit finalized performance information): 16–30 September 2026, 23:59 (JST)
■ Registration Fee (tax included)
1 performance: JPY 18,700
2–5 performances: JPY 31,900
2–5 performances: JPY 31,900
*The registration fee includes Professional Registration for up to two people per registered performance, giving access to YPAM Exchange and YPAM Direction.
