Walk the Plank seeking a Producer for work from March 2017
Are you a brilliant Producer looking for a challenge? We are looking to engage a Producer to work across various projects – from small scale interventions up to larger events in the public realm which engage communities as participants as well as spectators.
You will be skilled at supporting artists and creative teams to realise ambitious work that is relevant and exciting. You will know how to build effective partnerships with stakeholders, and love the challenges that involves. You will be experienced at managing people, time and resources in line with budget, and able to spot opportunities to grow a project through a canny approach to sponsorship or a well-placed bid for funds. You will be sensitive to context, and interested in cross-disciplinary approaches to generating amazing moments of celebration in the public realm or connecting with the many diverse communities in our home territory of Salford and Manchester.
You will be skilful at managing client expectations, and able to work with Marketing and Communications people to develop appropriate communication strategies for our projects. You will enjoy working in the space of tension between the creative ambition of the team and the practical constraints of site, timescale or weather, and you will be willing to challenge thinking to ensure that decisions are well made. Your creative flair will be backed up by strong organisational skills, a robust approach to H&S, and a determination to ensure that our work adds value for everyone who is touched by it – partners, audiences, participants, and volunteers.
Even if you can’t say yes to everything above, you will be willing to learn quickly what you don’t know, and share generously the skills you do have. You will be working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team that includes Exec Producers, artists, learning and production; and the workload can be intense at key times. We are open to flexible working and can offer either a short term contract or freelance work.
