Open call for MULTI-MEDIA DESIGN, PRODUCTION & TECHNICAL TEAM for “AFTER THE WALL,” a production by NY Artists Unlimited
Project Description: After the Wall is a play about walls around the world and throughout time: why they were built, how people survived them or not, what was dreamt to happen when they fell, and what really happened.
This multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural, multi-dimensional and multi-media piece questions the building of walls instead of creating community. After all performances, discussions are held, which continue through social networks. It is an immersive experience, with the audience seated in the center of a circle, surrounded by screens, real walls, fabric, glass, any material that can show images — which means the piece can be done in unconventional spaces: a circus tent, an audio-visual studio, a museum, an event space, a theater, an outdoor venue, etc. Sometimes, as in the case of old newsreel footage, images of invasions will be projected onto the actors themselves.
This production is multicultural and non-traditionally cast, with NO RESTRICTION regarding race, ethnicity, age, gender, size, physical challenge, accent, etc. One ensemble plays all the roles in a 7-8 hour marathon or in 1-2 hour presentations, focused on a particular community.
Melba LaRose, the Writer-Director, will be in Valencia in July, conducting workshop-auditions, as well as interviewing for the following areas:
