British Council BAME IETM Bursary Callout

Would you like to attend Crossroads, the IETM plenary meeting in Valencia 3 - 6 November 2016?

The British Council Theatre and Dance department is an associate member of IETM and is offering 6 bursaries to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) producers or artists keen to start developing their connections internationally.

These bursaries will go towards the costs of flights, accommodation, daily expenses and show tickets whilst in Valencia. Two of the British Council Theatre & Dance team will also be present during the IETM meeting to help with introductions, steer participants way through the events and generally be a friendly face.
IETM is a network of over 500 performing arts organisations and individual members working in the contemporary performing arts worldwide: theatre, dance, circus, interdisciplinary live art forms, and new media.

Members include festivals, companies, producers, theatres, research and resource centres, universities and institutional bodies.
IETM holds two plenary meetings a year in different European cities and smaller meetings all over the world. Besides these meetings, IETM commission’s publications and research projects, facilitates communication and distribution of information, and advocates for the value of performing arts.

The networks mission is to stimulate the quality, development and contexts of contemporary performing arts in a global environment by initiating and facilitating:
• professional networking and communication
• the dynamic exchange of information
• know-how transfer and presentations of examples of good practice

Practically, IETM provides performing arts professionals with the information, knowledge, skills and contacts that are necessary to work in the field of contemporary performing arts internationally.

If you are interested, please get in touch by sending an email with a brief overview of your practice and why you think attending an IETM meeting would be useful to you at this point in your career. We are particularly keen to hear from those who are willing to transfer some of the knowledge they gain from attending IETM to a wider group of practitioners in the UK (200 words max).

Previous British Council IETM bursary recipients are eligible to apply as they can be supported to attend a total of two IETM meetings through this scheme.
