IETM Out & About - Summer engagements and upcoming activities
- On Friday, 3 July, IETM Secretary General Ása Richardsdóttir took part in a panel discussion entitled 'From Funding to Decisions: How culture becomes strategy' which was held as part of the international outdoor theatre festival Deventer Op Stelten. The panel explored ways for arts and culture to enter the circles of structural decision making. Deventer Op Stelten has been featuring international and local outdoor arts since 1997 and gained recognition as a high quality festival strongly rooted in the local community.
- On Tuesday, 7 July, the IETM Green Team took part in the online meeting ‘SHIFT In Transition’ to learn about the new future plan for the SHIFT community following the appointment of On the Move and Vector 42 as new coordinators. We discussed together the key new changes and next development steps in this transition process. We are very excited about this new direction and look forward to sharing our knowledge and practices with the other networks and platforms in the SHIFT community!

On 20 and 21 October, IETM is invited to speak at the conference ‘Shaping Ecological Futures: Arts, Institutions and Cultural Policy’, co-organised by IETM Associate Member DGARTES and CEIS20, and hosted by the University of Coimbra. The conference is set to situate the current ecological crisis within broader historical, political and cultural frameworks and how imagination and artistic practice can function as tools for resilience and survival.
IETM Secretary General Ása Richardsdóttir will intervene and share insightful learnings from the work of IETM and Perform Europe, on sustainable practices, training and research, on the IETM Green School, the SHIFT programme of networks and on how Perform Europe as a EU funding scheme is contributing to the green reimagination of international touring. Find out more about the conference here.
