The IETM Campus is a training programme to support IETM members and performing arts professionals worldwide in internationalising their practices. The IETM Campus 2023 took place from 10 to 16 May 2023 in the beautiful village of Polverigi (near Ancona) in the Marche region of Italy. This seventh edition of the Campus was organised in collaboration with longtime IETM member Marche Teatro, Italy.
About the IETM Campus Polverigi 2023
The IETM Campus 2023 offered a week of intensive training to a group of 20-25 performing arts professionals based anywhere in the world. The training was designed to offer support, tools and advice to professionals who have an ongoing practice in their own local contexts and are looking for ways to internationalise their career and practices.
A group of experienced tutors from the performing arts field shared their knowledge on various topics of working internationally: networking; developing artistic projects and ideas; international collaboration; and current trends in the international performing arts sector with emphasis on inclusion and green practices. Thanks to the limited size of the group, participants received personal consideration for their specific situations.
Profile of participants
The IETM Campus is for performing arts professionals who have a solid understanding of the sector in their own local context (at least two years of professional experience) and are taking their first steps towards expanding their practices and activities internationally.
Candidates who qualify for the IETM Campus are, for example:
- Ready to position themselves in the international performing arts sector and its dynamics
- At a turning point in their career and are looking for alternative approaches
- Starting to work internationally on their own or have recently joined an organisation with an international scope
IETM encourages its member organisations to consider the IETM Campus as a career development opportunity for their junior and middle-level employees.
IETM and Marche Teatro are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and therefore welcomed applicants from all backgrounds and countries. Professionals who feel underprivileged and underrepresented in the performing arts sector were strongly encouraged to apply.
Participation fee
The participation fee for the IETM Campus Polverigi 2023 was €450 for IETM members, and €600 for non-members. Please note: If you live and work in Italy, the participation fee was the same as for IETM members, €450.
The participation fee included:
- Participation in the full Campus training programme (10-16 May 2023)
- Accommodation in a double room (shared with one other participant) with breakfast included (10-16 May 2023)
- A welcome dinner
- A farewell dinner
- Ground transportation from Ancona to Villa Nappi in Polverigi and back
