See you soon in Hull !
I’m very excited to talk with you all about one of my new works in development: CHILD-ISH, a verbatim play drawn from interviews with children about love and relationships. The work recontextualizes children’s exact words into adult situations for adult actors to play. We aim to transform the way we see love, children and adults. CHILD-ISH is for an adult audience, with children on the creative team as young dramaturgs, choreographers and co-creating an experiential component of the work. Here’s a short video:
Oh I love, love, love this... reminds me of a book we had in my library (and I still have) called vote for love which presented children's ideas (in writing). I do hope this show comes to the UK and that I am able to see this.
The posted video is perfect too. Looking forward to connecting in Hull
Thanks Sam - looking forward to meeting you!
I'm going to present our already running project, Journey to the Beginnings or JTTB (see here: http://journeytothebeginnings.eu/). The project brings together contemporary art (theatre, dance, music and literature) with new technology and archaeology in the most important prehistoric sites along the Danube. I'm inviting you to our performances in May and June in Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Romania to join our TAG - Theatre Adventure Game and learn more about cultural heritage interpretation and of course prehistory. Your presence would be also a possibility to talk about the follow-up if the program as we have a lot of interest coming from other museums, archaeology parks. If you miss the dates, you will be still able to enjoy our show on a newly developed digital platform, including AR and VR. To sum it up beforehand, here is a video with the freezing participants from October :)
Hi there! I'll be presenting SUMMER SCRIPTWRITING BASE. It's a unique combination of educational forum, creative experience, and rural retreat. It will take place from 31.07 till 10.08.2019 in the beautiful and authentic village of Bozhentsi, in Bulgaria’s mountains. SSB gathers twenty participants for ten days of intensive learning, creating, sharing, and experiencing.
It is destined to creative minds, theatre and cinema-makers, game designers, creative writers, hackers. They can expect:
- Mind-blowing creative boost.
- To meet with like-minded people from all around Europe and beyond and to establish long-lasting professional and personal relationships.
- Deep understanding and know-how on such exciting and cutting-edge topics as immersive experiences, real life game design, site-specific and immersive theatre, interactive narratives, urban games, and pervasive games led by an international team of established professionals.
The theme of 2019 edition of the SSB is Shangri-La. Shangri-La is a fictional place described in the novel “Lost Horizon” by James Hilton. It became synonymous of an earthly paradise hidden in a mountain and isolated from the rest of the world. SSB will transform the village of Bozhentsi into Shangri-La. The participants will explore their childhood dreams and fantasies and will merge them with the settings of Bozhentsi and its history.
We are looking for partners to join us in this experience and to cooperate in developping future editions of the Summer Scriptwriting Base in Bulgaria and abroad.

this sounds like an amazing opportunity - and I am really looking forward to find out more in Hull.
Thank you, Sam! Looking forward to meeting you!
Hi there! I am looking forward to meeting you all and talking about touring of the performing arts:
I am part of Tourbook CIC - a not for profit organisation, that researches, designs and develops digital tools to help make the touring of the performing arts easier. We seek to understand how people within this sector can work, connect, collaborate and communicate more effectively and efficiently.
Our first tool - tourbook.live - an early stage digital platform - is currently being used by programmers in Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland - with support for more locations coming soon.
We've talked about Tourbook at IETM before, once in 2015 and again in 2016. However, at the time we could only share our concept - the idea. We've come on a considerable journey since: the tourbook.live platform has been live since September 2017; we now support touring in or to Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland, with performers represented from 17 countries and we look ahead to growing further and supporting touring in other locations across the rest of the UK and beyond.
Now we'd welcome the opportunity to listen and to learn from those working in other locations and who have an in-depth knowledge of touring within and beyond these geographical boundaries.
We also welcome any opportunity to share our experiences with others who share interest in the role that digital tools and connectivity can play in enhancing opportunities for cultural mobility now and into the future.
this sounds great!
Cheers!
Dear IETM community! I look forward to presenting SPACES to you.
SPACES is an immersive experience that merges contemporary performance with the ancient art of storytelling. SPACES goes beyond site-specific, it is place-specific: each SPACES piece is built around the site of its performance, but above all, it is created and performed with the local community that gives this place its life and identity.
At the heart of the piece, local residents share intimate real-life stories. By weaving these together with dance, music, and multimedia, SPACES transports audiences to a place where the magical and the quotidian meet. More than a performance, SPACES aims to use storytelling, one of the oldest human traditions, to bring our focus back to our communities, one story at a time.
It's a project that was born in Harlem, New York, and will be heading all around the world starting next year. We are also in the process of finalizing collaborators for a Creative Europe application, and may have spaces for 1-2 partners. If you are interested, it would be a pleasure to speak with you about the project. Feel free to reach out to me at simon@kaimeraproductions.com and we can find a time to speak.
A link to a short trailer is below, and you can learn more about the project here: https://www.kaimeraproductions.com/upcoming.
Hi everyone, I'm looking forward to meeting you all and telling you a little about how our tiny company is working with major theatre companies to be more inclusive of Asian Australian stories and artists.
Hello All. I will talk a little about our festival (www.festivalofthrift.co.uk) and invite discussion about how to build connections with our event to build a creative community together. We are increasingly looking at digital connections to cut down on travel and I would love to learn from your experiences and share them.
Hello.
Looking forward to meeting you all in Hull. I'll be introducing Unlimited Theatre's large scale, sci-art collaboration "You Have Been Upgraded” - bringing together leading scientists, researchers, artists, hackers and entrepreneurs working in human enhancement technologies. We made a pilot version for the 2018 Manchester Science Festival (see video) and are planning a new, bigger version for late 2020 to coincide with the Tokyo Paralympics. We would like to work with international partners to co-produce/present the event in other countries and cities, repopulating it with other local and international participants.
See you soon!
A little more about what I'd like to talk about. We’re a small company making works that explore the contemporary Asian Australian experience, in a landscape where cultural diversity in the performing arts is nowhere near representative of the diversity of the population. We’ve made an impact through strategic partnerships that I'll tell you a little about, resulting in great successes such as Single Asian Femaie. Now we’re seeking like-minded allies and partners to work with us on a new artists initiative in an international context, to help artists thrive beyond the constraints of a small and competitive domestic environment.
hi all—getting to this way too late, but excited to meet you all. here's a bit about the project i'd like to share. it's very nascent, so no video yet!
the end of history is a global, collaborative, multidimensional project that interrogates liberal values in liberal institutions to imagine a future beyond liberalism. it’s more than theatre, it’s a locus for cultural diplomacy, modelling new approaches to transnational collaboration.
in the years after the berlin wall fell francis fukuyama declared that we had reached the end of history, putting a positive spin on margaret thatcher’s declaration that “there is no alternative.”
with this project, we are declaring that there ARE alternatives, and building a team of international writers, thinkers, theatre artists, and idealists.
the red light district is assembling a network across borders for its latest iterative art experiment: together, we'll imagine the coming catastrophe—and more importantly, what could come next.
