CALL - Participatory Arts Practices - IETM Munich
In Porto, my colleague Matteo Lanfranchi have started a new group within IETM to discuss Participatory Arts Practices, that will continue in Munich with me as a moderator and maybe you as speaker.
I am looking for speakers who would like to share about an issue, a challenge, an obstacle met in the process of creation and development or while performing a participatory performance, for which the group in Munich could find solutions to solve and overcome.
Artists, producers, festival directors, performing arts lovers, everybody is welcome to share experience. If you're interested in being part of this session please reply with some info about your activity and projects.
Thanks.
Daniela
Dear
From Belgium, our company is a travelling company in a theater tent. We are creating a new project around "Federico Garcia Lorca" and the 3 rural texts "Yerma", "La maison de Bernarda Alba" and "Noces de Sang" This creation is a musical theater show with 14 artists on scene. We collaborate with another company : Infini Theater, for the direction of the show. We also are creating a european project around gender issue, working with artistic workshop with woman from rural areas. Indeed, the voice is given to women in this project as in the texts of Garcia Lorca. we want to give a place for participation to the spectators, who can if they want join the singing (3 songs shared before by internet) of the artists during the show. But also to meet and recolt testimonials of rural women where we go, that could be integrated later in the show. It's the first time for us, we have a lot of questions on "how" to organise that. If interested, we could come with the director of the play to your workshop.Where can i send you a document with the issue of mediation around women and travelling theater as a mean to work with people who don't have the accessibility to culture ? Thank you Pascale Mahieu
Bien cordialement,
Christian.

I have done a lot of participatory work over 20yrs in both UK and Australia and am currently producing a large scale participatory project for Sydney Festival that is not strictly arts but encouraging a large community to engage with art. I couldn't come in Porto but will definitely be there in Munich. Thanks for organising. Pippa
