TeatrInGestAzione, since 2006 based in Naples, is an intersubjective creative body that gives shape to artistic projects and hybrid works of a theatrical, interdisciplinary, pedagogical and social nature. Its founders, Anna Gesualdi and Giovanni Trono, work at a national and international level, aiming to release the performing act from the show context, re-defining the concept of the scene as a space for an experimental sociality. They conceive and care for Altofest – International Contemporary Live Arts Festival (altofest.net), a project born in Naples in 2011. The festival collects important awards including the international EFFE AWARD 2017 – 18, awarded by the EFA (European Festival Association), which elects him among the six best European festivals out of 715 candidates; the Funder35 prize (ACRI and Mibac – Italian Ministry of Culture), meant to be an impulse to young cultural enterprises, and S’illumina prize (SIAE and Mibac, Italian Ministry of Culture). The Valletta 2018 Foundation, commits a special edition of Altofest, which has had place in Malta in 2018, included among the flagship projects of the cultural program of Valletta 2018 European Capital of Culture; whose experience is collected in the documentary film by Giuseppe Valentino “On the dust island”, and in the publication “Displace Altofest”, edited by Silvia Mei and Loretta Mesiti, published by Fondazione Valletta 2018. Furthermore, an Altofest special edition is included in the official program of Matera_Basilicata 2019 European Capital of Culture. From 2011 to 2013, at the PAN Palazzo delle Arti in Naples, they conceive and care of three editions of the project Altofragile – Corpi Esposti all’Opera (exhibit bodies at work) – project focused on sharing with the audience the genetic moment of the artistic creation (altofragile.eu). As independent theatre researchers, they lead seminars and workshops both in national and international cultural institutions and universities. In 2008 they are teachers in the Advanced Training Course for Theater Operators in disadvantaged areas and prison facilities – FormArt Lavoro project (formerly the Techne project) School for Performing Arts, Dir. Ruggero Cappuccio, promoted by the European Union, Ministry of Labor, Municipality of Salerno. From 2015 to 2017 they are among the theatre directors of “Arrevuoto”, a pedagogical project focused on young generations theatre (produced by National Theatre of Naples. A project born in 2005 inspired by the Non Scuola of the Teatro delle Albe, inaugurated and guided by Marco Martinelli for the first three years, then entrusted to a collective direction from 2008 to today, under the general management of Maurizio Braucci). In 2011 they won the prize MOVIN UP (GAI and Ministry of Culture). From 2006 to 2014 they led a theatre project at the OPG (State Prison for the criminally insane), in Aversa; afterwards, when all the OPG institutions closed, due to national law, the project moved to the Poggioreale Prison, in Naples. The experience of TeatrInGestAzione in Aversa is the subject of studies and numerous degree theses, at several Italian universities. The documentary film “Caini d’Aversa” is also dedicated to it. In 2011 they are among the founders of the Coordinamento Nazionale di Teatro in Carcere (the National Network of Theatre in Prison).
