Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theater has already been performing for eighty years. In 1928, Kote Marjanishvili the II Georgian State Theatre in Kutaisi. In 1930, by the government's decree, the II Georgian State Theater was moved to Tbilisi. Based on the existing traditions, Marjanishvili created a theater, where antique, classical and modern dramas were staged on the equal footing. For years many famous directors, actors, artists and composers have performed here. Since 2006, Levan Tsuladze, one of the most acknowledged directors of modern generation, has been the artistic director of the theater. More than 30 plays have been staged in the theater in this short period of time. Each premiere is a big event in the cultural life of Tbilisi. The theater has successfully toured many countries. Theatre has two halls - main (435 seats) and small “Attic” (102 seats)
