In times of hypermobility, language is no longer linked to a territory, but is still linked to a culture. According to Humboldt’s concept of Weltanschauung, a language is a way of perceiving the world common to a certain group of people. How can we ensure linguistic diversity is not about preserving cultures as an end and building barriers? How can linguistic diversity create a frame for ecological relations between cultural groups as a condition for equitable interactions and the potential for organic cultural change and mutual understanding?
