Working groups
With the 4 dimensions of the climate problem introduced by the preceding panel in mind, delegates divide into working groups on:

  1. mitigation (Investigate how to mitigate climate change and identify actions needed to limit the damage being done)
  2. adaptation (Examine both philosophical and practical responses to imagine and adapt the performing arts ecology making it fit for the future)
  3. artistic influence (Show how art and artists can inspire and lead change)

Ecology of the performing arts
A dialogue on mitigation and adaptation in the performing arts sector between two speakers and based on the ideas collecting by the working groups.

The session will focus on cultural production and examine ways of funding, work, making, performing and touring work that are good for artists, audiences and the planet. How to act against the environmental impact of the performing arts sector? How to run low impact productions, events and venues? What new infrastructures, practices and human relation for a more sustainable field?
