Invitation in Belgium / new creation of Baladins du Miroir
Dear partners, dear members,
We are happy to invite you to come in Belgium and discover our new creation of musical theatre, with 17 actors and musicians, "Désir, Terre et Sang". We would be proud to welcome you, with the help of WBI for your rest, as it's important for us to make travelling theater more concrete in the network of IETM, as a space of contemporary creation inside the traditional structure of a marquee like circus, presenting classical authors revisited in our specific style.

An international musical theatre creation
Les Baladins du Miroir & Infini Theater invite you ...
With Désir, Terre et Sang (literally Desire, Earth and Blood), Dominique Serron takes Lorca’s three rural plays: Yerma, The House of Bernarda Alba, Blood Wedding and offers a redesign into a poetic, original and subversive performance. A modern drama in the heart of music, body and human passion: a merciless fight between desire and suffocating traditions, Lorca’s fondness for the land, for the Andalusian people and for the defense of women in an inhumanely harsh world.
A show supported by dancing, singing and music and interpreted by a troupe of 17 musicians and actors in the dedicated space of the theatre tent. This is a place of proximity and confrontation, amplifying the experience thanks to its traditional structure.
With Désir, Terre et Sang, we show that today’s theatre is still in line with the breath and spirit Lorca envisioned and introduced with his travelling troupe La Barraca. Having fulfilled, long before others, the experience of a travelling popular theatre, Lorca succeeded in giving his approach an early modernity through an inspired and liberated writing style, among other things through surrealism.
This creation in a theater tent will take on its full meaning in today’s world: it will restore Federico’s political force, and restore travelling theatre’s inherent mission of transgression and of encounters with popular audiences in the broadest sense of the term.
Lorca defended the following idea: “In compliance with the cultural ideals of the Republic, granting the Spanish people access to culture through the great classics”. What an approach, what a way to free people from everyday alienation through culture! Having fulfilled, long before others, the experience of a travelling popular theatre, Lorca succeeded in giving his approach an early modernity through an inspired and liberated writing style, among other things through surrealism. This contemporary creation will take on its full meaning in today’s world: it will restore Federico’s political force, and restore travelling theatre’s inherent mission of transgression and of encounters with popular audiences in the broadest sense of the term.
As a video creation will incorporate translation into the stage design and into the show’s rhythm, we can imagine this show in several languages.
