International Training for Arts Industry Professionals // Lyon (Fr), Monday 6 May
Dear friends and colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the launch of our International Training for Arts Industry Professionals. Through a series of 4 to 6 sessions this year, the Training will gather in Lyon artists, cultural managers and other creative players to enhance their ability to work internationally.
The Training has been designed by Sergio Chianca (BuroKultur) and Nicolas Bertrand, who will implement and facilitate the upcoming sessions.
The Training will make use of publications from the IETM network and other international stakeholders to engage a conversation between participants on international collaborations' issues.
Sessions will be held in English in order to improve our use of the language (whatever our level is).
The first Training (6th of May) will be based on the IETM publication "Beyond Curiosity and Desire: Towards Fairer International Collaborations in the Arts" written by Mike van Graan.
This toolkit examines how historical links between countries, different political contexts, technical infrastructure and skills, freedom to travel, living and working conditions, aesthetics, traditions and of course, financial resources can influence expectations and engagement, when it comes to international and intercultural activities.
The rules are simple :
- Before the Training, you read the publication, either in English or French,so that all participants understand the topic of the conversation.
- On Monday, 6th of May, you join the Practice at 17:30 (it will start on time). Participants make a summary of the text, they set out the context, highlight and analyse key notions and relate their personal experiences to the topics. Participants are also invited to ask and share questions and remarks about the language issues they may have had. The session will end at 20:00.
Participation is free, however your are invited to register before Friday the 3rd and bring some drinks or crisps to share with others.
The Training will take place at the Goethe-Institut Lyon (18 rue François Dauphin 69002 Lyon, France - 3rd Floor).
For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us. And if you cannot participate or would like to be informed about our future International Trainings please let us know.
Best regards,
Sergio Chianca
