Job opening at Canada Council for the Arts
Under the leadership of the CFO-Director general, Corporate Services, the incumbent will provide organizational leadership in the envisioning, development and delivery of a Human Resources strategy which supports the mission and values of the Council, and will provide advice and guidance to executives and senior managers on a broad range of workplace issues. S/he will lead employee relations and will foster a principled and respect-based approach to labour-management issues. A collaborative and hands-on leader, the Director will oversee a broad HR portfolio including employment, engagement, succession planning, compensation and benefits services, learning and development, and change management.
The incumbent will be the executive champion to establish, develop and implement a change management strategy empowering those responsible for carrying out the change and communicate the need for change. The Director HR will be the Council’s labor relations spokesperson ensuring the delivery of cost effective services to enable the Council to manage its human resources in a culture that reflects its values, principles and practices, and advances the broader concept of talent management in a business transformation
This position oversees the management of seven (7) employees. The incumbent is expected to travel an average of ten (10) days per year in Canada and may be required to work irregular hours.
