Bullying and harassment in the performing arts workplace


Since #MeToo went viral in late 2017, people working in the performing arts around the world have begun to examine their own workplaces. The session will be an opportunity to support each other by sharing practical ways to address abuses of power. Some examples of relevant international initiatives and resources will be given, and we would like to hear more from you. By sharing this information in the group and with the wider network we hope to help all of us deal with abuses of power when we encounter them at work.

This venue is not accessible for wheelchair users.

I'll be helping facilitate this session - though I am not an expert, I have been involved in what has been going on in Ireland recently. We're looking for someone else with experience in this area who is planning to come to Porto to help me facilitate the session, so if you have a good idea, please contact the IETM team.

There are lots of examples of discussions about harassment, sexual harassment and bullying starting in various countries. I'd like to use this session to to hear more and compile a list of resources, as well as examples of how things are (or are not) changing.
