Civil society voices reached the EU Council of Culture Ministers

On the occasion of the EU Council of Culture Ministers meeting in Brussels the 10-11 of May 2012, Culture Action Europe’s Secretary General Mr. Luca Bergamo met, on the 9th of May, with a high representative of the Danish Minister of Culture Mr. Uffe Elbæk to convey the message of the Europe-wide campaign ‘we are more – act for culture in Europe’ to the Presidency of the EU Council of Culture Ministers. IETM members took part in this campaign actively : they notably engaged to make the profesionnals' voice heard by sending IETM proposal to their culture ministry.

Following IETM's concentrated 18 month focus on the social and political context of our work, artistic practices and the ideas which fuel them will be the focus of the Zagreb Plenary Meeting. The meeting will open a space for re-thinking the changes that have occurred in the ways we think about performing arts in the past 20 or 30 years and will generate a process of critical self-reflection on the art making.
