EU Project Looping'09 : Hermann Heisig, Irina Mueller + Nuno Lucas (DE) | Ana Catalina Gubandru (RO) | Ayse Orhon (TR)

LOOPING is an european project supported by the EU Culture 2007-2013 program co-organized by O Espaço do Tempo art centre (Portugal); Uzès Danse (France), TanzWerkstatt Berlin (Germany) and with the partnership of Kanuti Gildi SAAL (Estonia).

LOOPING supports productions by twelve emerging choreographers, from six different countries: France, Germany, Portugal, Estonia, Romania and Turkey, by working with them throughout the creative process, from research on to production of the work, and beyond, to its diffusion.

Technical, financial and administrative resources are provided to the selected choreographers to enable them to create a short, 30-minute work. Cycles of residences are organised in each of the six partner countries, to enable the artists to work on their creations, with support and feedback from philosophers, university researchers, artists, theoreticians etc, who will bring their opinion to bear on the work, providing an objective gaze, criticism and training. At the same time, young production administrators will be trained, in order to ensure structural aspects to develop alongside the young choreographers.

In 2009, the works created were already performed in France, Portugal, and Germany during the seasons and festivals organized by the three co-organizers. After a first showing of some Looping projects on June 2009, O Espaço do Tempo is presenting from the 4th till the 5th December in Montemor-O-Novo/Portugal a final showing of the works created by Hermann Heisig, Irina Mueller, Nuno Lucas (Germany); Ana Catalina Gubandru (Romania) and Ayse Orhon (Turkey).
