:Danish+ Showcase and Conference

:DANISH+ is a showcase of professional Danish performing arts for children and young people - supported by the Danish Arts Council and organized by Gruppe 38.

:DANISH+ invites theatre representatives and presenters from around the world to come to Aarhus/Denmark for this exclusive opportunity to witness and experience the very best of Danish performing arts for children and young people.

For :DANISH+ 2010 a curatorio group has handpicked 12 productions - a process of selecting based on only one sole parameter: quality. All performances are regarded as equally compelling for adults and children/young people.
With a few exceptions all performances will be in English - and those not performed in English will be performed in consideration with the international audience.

The first :DANISH+ showcase took place in April 2008.
About 60 international delegates participated and evaluated the event:

Danish performing arts for children and young people is widely acclaimed for creating productions from an uncompromising and genuine artistic concern, and aim for intense and intimate dialogue on several levels between stage and audience.

The :DANISH+ 2010 showcase will be combined with a one-day conference in English about artistic quality in the performing arts. The conference is organised in collaboration with Kulturhus Århus and Centre for Cultural Policy Research Aarhus.
